Andrew D. Marques
Shooting and devloping 8mm has become another of Andrew's interests. These shots were taken at AACA Hershey Meet in 2021 using the same 1955 Kodak Brownie his grandparents used.
Andrew has taken up the challenge of shooting with this antique camera and then developing and scanning the film at home.
This process allows him to not only capture moments in a nostalgic and authentic way but also to relive memories of his family's
past. His passion for this process and the care he puts into each step speaks to his dedication to preserving history through art.
Andrew is interested in film photography, specifically in capturing and developing photos in a vintage style.
He enjoys using older cameras and film to achieve a unique look and feel in his photographs. He also has experience
in developing his own film in a darkroom, allowing him to have complete control over the final product. This interest
showcases his attention to detail and creativity in utilizing older technology to create modern art.
Collaborating with museums are one of Andrew's most valued activities. Andrew appreciates
his opportunity to construct elements used in museum exhibits, and to volunteer to interact with visitors.
His museum collaborations uniquely tap into several key intesrests including historic preservation, handcraft,
computer programming, and public service.
Andrew also has a keen interest in digital photography, particularly in capturing the beauty of birds.
With his camera in hand, he enjoys exploring nature and capturing stunning images of different bird species
in their natural habitats. He is constantly improving his photography skills and experimenting with different
techniques to create unique and breathtaking images.
Andrew also has a deep interest in exploring and appreciating the natural world. He often spends his free time hiking through forests,
mountains, and other natural landscapes. He enjoys observing and learning about the different flora and fauna he encounters on his hikes.
Andrew has a passion for biking, including fixing and maintaining bikes as well as participating in long rides. One of his most
impressive rides was a 140-mile journey from Gainesville to Tampa.
Andrew is interested in the art of stained glass, with a particular focus on pre-war designs. He enjoys the process of creating intricate pieces and takes pleasure in the challenge of bringing historical designs to life.
